Giving Back
We give to help kids.
KidSnips was created to be a place that is welcoming for every child. A place where they know they are valued and respected for who they are, and that their needs are important. Because that’s the kind of world we want to live in.
That’s why we support a number of charities that make a difference in the lives of children, like Wigs For Kids, Autism Speaks, Global Down Syndrome Foundation, and The Conscious Kid. We also donate hundreds of free haircuts to local school and other kid-focused charity fundraisers.
At KidSnips, we believe childhood should be fun for kids, and the people who love them.
And we’re convinced that’s possible if we all put our minds and hearts into it…together. That’s why throughout the year we also offer you some easy and fun ways to give back to these organizations with us.
We support Wigs For Kids.
Wigs For Kids is a kid-focused non-profit organization that donates wigs to children experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, burns, and other medical complications. If you have 12 or more inches of non-color or chemical processed hair you would like to donate for Wigs for Kids, we will cut your hair in a way that maximizes the donation length and mail the hair in for you. Plus you will get a coupon for $5 off your next haircut at KidSnips.

We support Autism Speaks.
Autism Speaks is a cause near and dear to our hearts. We understand the unique challenges of raising a child with special needs, so we want to make haircuts an easier and less scary experience for these awesome kids. If you’d like to learn more about Autism, you can discover more here and here.
We train our staff specifically to work with children with special needs. We’ve also compiled a free downloadable booklet to help prepare your child for what they can expect when they’re getting their hair cut.
Every April, our salons make a special donation to Autism Speaks and we give you the opportunity to help your kids understand that even getting a haircut can help make a difference. Sign up for our emails so you can participate in all our charitable giving opportunities.
We support Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
Almost everyone knows someone with Down syndrome. But at KidSnips we were shocked to learn that it’s the least funded major genetic condition by our National Institutes of Health… even though it’s the most frequent chromosomal disorder.
That’s why one of the charitable organizations that we’re proud to support is the Global Down Syndrome Foundation which funds life-changing research and medical care benefiting people with Down syndrome. And each year at KidSnips we set aside a special month to support kids with Down syndrome and their families by a donation to this important foundation.
By the way, if you have a child with Down syndrome and have concerns about getting their hair cut, please don’t hesitate to call your nearby KidSnips and talk it over. Our stylists are trained in working with kids who are scared, or wiggly, or have other special needs and we want every child and every parent to enjoy their visit with us.

We donate to Conscious Kids.
We all want our kids to grow up in a world that loves and values each and every one of them. In order for that to happen, we need to have real conversations about race. Children’s books are one of the best ways to start these conversations and to teach kids how they can be a part of making this a world where every child has a chance to realize their dreams.
That’s why we are a proud supporter of Conscious Kids Anti-Racist Children’s Book Education Fund, a fund that gets books like these into classrooms across the country. By the way, you can also subscribe to their monthly book club here.
