Special Needs
Scared? Shy? Special needs? We love ‘em all.
Is your child wiggly, shy or scared? No problem! We understand that different kids need different things. So, our stylists are specially trained to work with all kinds of kids, including those who may not be comfortable in new places, may not be able to sit still in a chair for long, or may find the whole idea of a stranger with scissors frightening. Who wouldn’t feel a little scared, right?
Our stylists have also had training in working with kids with special needs, and also know how to work with kids who are shy or wiggly. All of our salons are wheelchair accessible as well. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure your child feels comfortable and welcome.
No one knows your child better than you, so let us know of any tips or tricks, likes or dislikes, so we can make your kid’s haircut the best experience possible.

Here’s a tip: If your child is afraid of haircuts, we recommend bringing them into the salon before their appointment. We’ll allow them to look around and explore our fun and colorful space so they can familiarize themselves with the sights, sounds, and smells. If your child gets overwhelmed during their appointment, we can press pause, and you can bring them in on another day to finish their haircut (at no additional cost).
When it’s time for their appointment, we’ll explain each step of the process to your child. We handle sensory issues with great care, such as we will spray water on combs instead of directly onto your child’s hair, and we can use scissors instead of noisy clippers if needed.
Be sure to download our guide that shows your child exactly what to expect when they come in for their haircut.
Price: same as any other service.

We had Kelsey as our hair stylist and she was AMAZING! My son has autism and this was our first time taking him to an actual hair salon. We were very nervous as to how he would do, but Kelsey was calm and patient the entire time. He ended up sitting on the floor on a play rug with some toys and an iPad to keep him distracted. Kelsey was able to very quickly and expertly cut his hair. He did not cry and only offered minimal resistance. Haircut itself was in the $20 range, and the toys were cheap so we were able to give my son a fun prize for doing such a good job. Will definitely be going back!
