Steins and Sippy Cups? How beer gardens are the new trend in dining with kids.

You may think that beer and babies don’t mix, but a new trend has emerged that sees the two going together like beer and brats. Family friendly beer gardens are catching on across the country and across the Chicagoland area.

The restaurant industry realizes that parents want to take their kids with them when they socialize and if the kids are happy, the parents are happy. That means the adults may stay longer and ultimately spend more money.

The al fresco dining can include play structures, bocce ball, shuffle board–all of it kid friendly the menus are abundant with fare for the little ones. Many of these tend to be seasonal, so you will want to take advantage of this opportunity in the warmer weather.

If you are traveling with your little ones consider checking out the beer garden at the Philadelphia Zoo which features brightly colored decor and bee served in eco friendly cups or in Washington DC Bardo features corn hole games and outdoor movies.

But if you just plan on being the “cool” parent here in Chicago, here are a couple you might want to check out with your kids. Cheers!
