by | Aug 29, 2018 | KidSnips News

KidSnips owners Jill Gordon and Kim Stolze are a part of one of the most rapidly growing sectors of the US economy—women owned businesses. According to the National Association of Women Business Owners, Gordon and Stolze own one of the 11.6 million firms owned by women. Those businesses employ nearly nine million people.

For Stolze and Gordon the business came out of a friendship that started at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. This pair of advertising and retail executives decided to come together to start a business that catered to Chicago area families offering affordable haircuts by stylists who knew how to take care of children.

The pair hit the ground running. They did their research and now, after two decades, have more than 8 locations in the Chicagoland area.

In the past 20 years the number of women owned firms in the US has increased 114%. According to Business Insider, many women start businesses because it just seems like a better alternative to the demands of corporate life. Some women find it to be more stimulating and rewarding to be their own boss. In fact, every day in the US women start about 849 new businesses.

So, Jill and Kim were onto something two decades ago when they collaborated as entrepreneurs looking to make their way. To learn more about this successful women owned business:
